23 weeks!

This morning was my visit to the doctor and i am exactly 23 weeks pregnant. I am so glad my pregnancy is healthy; he said baby is growing good as it should be and likewise the sexy mom is fine haha! My blood sugar is exactly good, I'm immune to certain type of disease the German measles, i'm not anemic in short i'm doing fine. Then most importantly the baby, everything looks normal by the ultrasound findings! I thank Jah for it! i always pray that my pregnancy will be as good as the first one. Although right now is kind of different when it comes to my eating habit, before i ate about everything no wonder my son is not finicky kid, but right now i am quite picky of what to eat because i don't want to gain a lot of weight! i am aware of it already the more you crave the more you and the baby get big! Not gonna happen again!! i'm determining to just take easy with my appetite. So, so far so good!

He won't take no for ketchup! whatever food i give him with ketchup's he will eat it. I am glad though i can sneak out with his food. LOL! Then the lil girly in the right is my cousin who is now 20 years old! I love seeing and reminiscing everything from my past, it so inspiring how we become right now and achieved our dreams.

lovely gifts!

During this season, people are becoming more generous and giving than ever before. I don't celebrate Christmas because of religious beliefs, but I see so many individuals going to gift shops, bazaars, malls and doing their shopping. Perhaps they are preparing their gifts to their loved ones. They are also busy preparing the things they need like flowers and etc. They plan to have a dinner together with the whole family and friends, a perfect bonding for everyone.

1-800-flowers.com offers the widest selection of beautiful flowers and centerpieces for any occasion. What they have now is the Christmas gift basket. Choose from fruit baskets, gourmet food baskets, and wine and cheese baskets. There are also flowers and souvenirs available for all occasions. What I'm looking forward right now is the coming baby shower party. Friends and family are throwing something special for our second baby, I'm truly excited. Baby gift baskets, personalized baby stuff, and of course flowers for mom and cheesecakes for dad are beautiful, they make the recipient happy.

Whatever the occasion is, it's always a matter of making the ones you loved feel special and remembered. With gifts from the heart and moments of togetherness, it'll surely make everyones heart glad.

renewing our car insurance

Husband and I were shocked to found out about our car insurance. About his truck insurance, goodness! It has expired since last February but we only knew about it just last week. We all know about the disadvantages of not having a car insurance, so we really need to renew it. As of now, we needed to call the agent about the renewal of papers and documents, good thing we are getting help from the professionals. it will be so stressful and sure problems will arise if we didn't get to fix our auto insurance as soon as possible.

Reading to Newborn Babies Beneficial

Reading to young children has such a powerful impact on the rest of their lives that experts now recommend parents begin doing so when their babies are just hours old," says The Toronto Star. Dr. Richard Goldbloom, who two years ago spearheaded the first newborn literacy program in Canada, says: "One of the things we’ve learned and observed is that when you do read to a baby, they really pay attention from very early infancy. They are listening." Research indicates that just giving books to children from a very early age improves their vocabulary and reading skills. According to the newspaper, "the point is not to force toddlers to learn to read, but to expose them to both quality and quantity of language so they can acquire vocabulary and letter and sound recognition—and, eventually, actual reading skills."

I miss our Aquarium!

~ I liked this fish~
I've always been a pet lover. We have our dogs and cat, we also even have chickens and pigs, lol! But that was back in the Philippines, it's kinda different here in the U.S for I can only choose one pet to take care of. I wanted a dog or a cat, but husband doesn't like it so much. He prefers to have a huge aquarium with lots of fish in it. And so we did! We had quite a number of platters and corals but sad to say, they all died. I really want to have the aquarium back, it gives us a sense of calmness, very refreshing, and yet fish are not that hard to take care of. Right now, we are looking for some saltwater fish like angelfish, butterflyfish, and nemo! I mean clown fish. We also want some live corals to decorate the aquarium, to make it as real as possible. Anemoes and live corals are beautiful and breathtaking, the fish will love it, lol!Anyway, do you also want to have your aquarium? I know a site that sells a wide variety of exotic salt water fish, invertebrates, rare corals and so much more! This online superstore, gives discounts and gift certificates. They also provide free shipping for over $220 purchase. We really plan to buy saltwater fish from them. And I"m really so excited to have our aquarium back! How about you? Check out the links now!

Liked this sport!!!

I see a lot of people falling inlove with playing golf. Celebrities, politicians, businessmen, even young hippies get so hooked with playing golf. Actually, I don't really know much about this game, but I must also admit that I'm one of those who admire the famous Golf player Mr. Tiger Woods. I remember back in the Philippines, there was this only golf course in my hometown. I sometimes think to myself, someday I'm gonna play this game too, lol!

Cause of the Common Cold

“Catch a chill and you’ll catch a cold,” goes the saying. However, “for more than a century, scientists have invested an extraordinary amount of time and energy in debunking this old saw,” reports The New York Times. “But despite their efforts, the link between colds and the weather still lingers and continues to inspire yet more research.” Beginning with Louis Pasteur, in 1878, thousands of experiments have been conducted to determine what part, if any, chilling the body has on catching a cold. Not surprisingly, researchers are still not certain of the answer. Dr. Jack Gwaltney, Jr., one of the world’s leading experts on the common cold, suggests that it is humidity rather than temperature that promotes colds. The bottom line is that “the common cold is a complex entity—not a single disease at all, but many similar ones, and that all of them cycle in response to the weather in ways that are still not understood,” says the Times.

Lately, I've been feeling a little drowsy. I also can't read for long hours and spending in front of the computer screen gives my eyes so much pressure and discomfort. I've been thinking if I should go to the ophthalmologist and get my eyes check. It's been years since my last visit to the eye doctor and I really think I should be getting a new pair of eyeglasses. But I'm so busy I can't find time to make an appointment and get some check-up. Would it be possible to avail prescription eyeglasses online? The one that would be perfect for me?

Ebel sportwave & beluga watches!

Luxury watches are irresistible! They are one of a kind and breathtaking. Some people are just so blessed and fortunate to be able to collect luxury watches. I collect watches, it is one of therapy, but not those expensive ones, lol! But to be honest, I really want to have a luxury watch one of these days. It's a good investment actually, and of course it's something each of us deserve. Or better yet, somebody out there wants to give me a beautiful Ebel Beluga, lol!

Oh how I wish! Ebel Beluga is probably my dream watch, that's the photo above. It is timeless and classy. Ebel watches has lots of variety from ebel brasilia, ebel sportwave, ebel classic, ebel shanta, etc. but my favorite is Ebel Beluga. Mental Problems in Children

"Up to one in five of the world’s children suffer mental or behavioural problems that could blight the rest of their lives," states The Independent of London. In a joint report, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund warn that rates of depression, suicide, and self-harm have increased "alarmingly" among young people. The worst affected are those living in war zones and in countries undergoing rapid social and economic change. According to The Independent, the report said that depressed children "were prone to other illnesses and risky habits that could shorten their lives." It also stated that "about 70 per cent of premature adult deaths were linked to behaviour that developed in adolescence, such as smoking, drinking and drug abuse."

Cooking Healthy for my Family

I loved to cook ever since i was single, My parents trained us good in everything including how to make healthy and good food. They said it's important for a woman to know in the kitchen so that if I have my own family i can handle anything. I admit it's hard to think sometimes what food to fix because i wanted to have a healthy cooking for my family. I can not stand ready made or instant microwavable preservative food that are very popular now a days. I still believe cooking from scratch is the best and healthy food you can get. Fortunately, I have lots of recipes and cooking books for ideas and also i search online every now and then.

From wastewater to drinking water

The several million inhabitants of Orange County-a low rainfall area of California, USA- benefit from an innovative solution to the wastewater problem. Instead of millions of gallons of wastewater being dumped directly into the ocean each day, the majority is returned to the water supply. For many years this feat has been achieved by a wastewater treatment plant. After primary treatment, the wastewater undergoes secondary and tertiary treatment. This involves purifying the water so that it is as clean as conventional water. It is then mixed with deep-well water and goes into the groundwater basin. There it replenishes the basin and also prevents salt water from seeping in and ruining the groundwater reservoir. Up to 75 percent of the district's total water needs are drawn from this underground supply.

Introduce Your Children to Reading

It has been noted that the children of good readers follow their parents’ example," states neurolinguistics specialist Beatriz González Ortuño, as reported in the Mexican newspaper Reforma. Since children have a great capacity for learning, it is good to encourage their interest in reading even before they can identify vowels. For example, stories can be read to them that will help them to develop their imagination. The newspaper gives the following suggestions for introducing children to reading: "Sit down together. . . . Allow them to turn the pages, to interrupt when they wish, and to ask questions. . . . Ask them to talk to you about the objects and characters that appear in the story. Answer all their questions. . . . Relate the book to the life of the children."

Go acne away!

Lately i am having a problem with blemishes in my face. I blame my self because i usually sleep late at night and during the night i wake up ones or twice to change my son diapers. So there you go i am always lacking of sleep! So no wonder i get some pimples or acne especially in the forehead and chin where in my oily spots are. How Safe Are Carpets?

HOW much time do you spend in indoor areas covered with carpets? A report in New Scientist magazine suggests that the answer may be a matter of concern, particularly for children.
The magazine noted: "Our exposure to most toxic pollutants is between 10 and 50 times higher in indoor environments than it is outdoors." John Roberts, an environmental engineer in the United States, claims that samples of carpet dust from typical homes can contain alarmingly high levels of pollutants. These include lead, cadmium, mercury, pesticides, and the carcinogenic polychlorinated biphenols (PCBs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

Accordingly, pesticides carried into the home on shoes and pets’ paws can increase the pesticide content of carpet dust 400-fold. These pollutants are said to persist for years. Since pesticides and PAHs are semivolatile, they evaporate, drift about, and then resettle on carpets or other surfaces.

Young children often play on the floor and then put their fingers in their mouth. So they are especially vulnerable to pollutants. Since young children have a higher metabolic rate than adults, weight for weight they breathe in much more air than do adults.
Some researchers wonder if the increase in indoor carpeted areas may be contributing to the upsurge in children’s asthma, allergies, and cancer. Roberts observes: "A house with bare floors and a few area rugs will have about one-tenth of the dust found in a house with wall-to-wall carpet."

Roberts suggests that to make carpets safer, you should use a vacuum cleaner with a power head. Then, once a week for a period of several weeks, make 25 passes over the carpet within four feet of the main entrances, 16 passes over areas with heavy foot traffic, and 8 passes over the remainder of the carpeted areas.

After you have completed this simple procedure, if you then make half the above-recommended number of passes over the carpet each week, you should be able to keep dust levels low. Roberts also advises: "Put a high-quality doormat at each of the entrances to your home and wipe your feet twice before entering."

Is your child safe?

According to the U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car crashes are the leading cause of death among children between 5-14 years old. Says NHTSA: "Over 50% of children who die in crashes are unrestrained by safety devices. In addition, 4 out of 5 children are improperly restrained. Here's what NHTSA recommended:

Safety Tips- the safest place for children is the back seat.
1. Infants should be placed in a rear-facing child safety seat in the backseat of the car.
2. A child at least a year old and weighing at least 20 pounds may be placed in a forward facing seat.
3. At 40 pounds, the child can use a booster seat, which is secured by one of the car's lap and shoulder belts.
4. At approximately 80 pounds and height of about four feet nine inches, the child may begin using an adult safety strap.

Cautions-Children should not sit in the front passenger seat until they are at least 13 years of age. Air bags can cause serious injuries to children and babies. When a booster seat is used, a lap belt alone will not provide sufficient protection if the booster seat does not have a shield.

Social skills in Infants?

Babies as young as six months develop social judging skills before they can talk, the researchers say from Yale University, USA. Babies aged six months to ten months watched a large-eyed toy try to climb hills, while other toys either helped it or pushed it backward. The children were then presented with the toys to see which they would play with, Houston Chronicle explains. Nearly every baby picked the helpful toy over the bad one. So to some extent, even infants can tell the difference between naughty and nice playmates, and know which to choose.

sony is alot better

Thank God that he is feeling better right now, we went to his pedia yesterday for his well check up and the doctor said that he is doing right and growing normally... well that's the only thing parents wanna hear from their child that he grows on the way it use to be hehe. But oh boy while we we're there Bebe at first he was just calmed while the nurse checking him but after when the doc was the one touches him he is kinda wild wild froggy screaming to the max! had to held him tight because he will really loose what a strong baby i may say. His doctor told so to get a blood test procedure for him just to make sure he doesn't have any contact with lead or what so ever it is MANDATORY thing for child's well. So we headed to laboratory, take some blood .. supposed to be in his arm but i refused to do so and asked the nurse just poke him in his finger tip because that was hurt in my own experienced and i CAN'T imagine son screaming and kicking to the highest level if we done that! my goodness i couldn't watch it! i started to get emotional just thinking of it! huhuhu just motherly instinct huh!

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom
and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had
purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study.
His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him.
He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold.
Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said,
"With all your money you give me a Bible?"
And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very
successful in business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him.
He had not seen him since that graduation day.
Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son.
He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still
new Bible, just as he had left it years ago.
With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages.
His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11,
"And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?"
As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired.
On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...

Son is sick...

sickMy Bebe is been sick for 3days now, i feel so bad about him being not feeling good because he can't sleep in the bed well, he keeps waking up every now and then. The first day he just got a fever good thing i gave him some Tylenol, but follows by the next day with a runny nose until now, he keeps sneezing :-(... poor Bebe, if i could only suck his stuffy nose i will really do. All i can do for now is rub him some Vick's in the nose and in his chest at least he gets calm.
Just glad he is eating still but not much though I'm trying to hydrate him as much as possible. It's been 3night straight also I'm not having enough sleep... trying to put him comfortable so i just lay on the couch or kinda lean in the bed until he is sound asleep otherwise he will get choke because of the bad mucus!!! grrrrrrr. I wish he feels better soon... and mommy can back to sleep well in bed! when son not sick all of us here feels so comfy especially during nynite!

This was the first time my son's swimming in a pool and as you can see he was enjoying every seconds of his swims lol. We are having fun just watching his reactions, his squealing so loud and the way he likes the water! Dada really held him tight to the highest level because he wants to jump out of getting so excited! yikes!!!! well, ever since he loves water already that's why every time i take him a bath, I'm having a hard time to pull him out from our bathtub he will scream and wanting to go back! at the pool even he was cold already and his lips was getting purple... hehehe bebe was still laughing and giggling...kids will be kids! If we only live in the Philippines i bet he will love the beaches! unfortunately we don't have here...lol! Now i have the reason to really get a decent size pool in our back yard hmmmm we'll see need to save first haha...
