Preschoolers' Body Image

Children as young as four are "attempting to alter their appearance to conform to the body ideal endorsed by society," says the report. A study of preschoolers' eating and exercise habits found that both boys and girls were concerned about their body size-girls about losing weight and boys about building muscles. "Children seemed to be reflecting the body focus of their mothers who were generally dissatisfied with their own bodies," states the authors of the studies.

Kids copy their parents, no doubt. As mommy and daddy we need to show them good example, in this case when it comes to taking care of our bodies. It's not wrong to teach the child to eat healthy foods but, of course, let's not take it to the extreme. Children are after all very observant. So when you're in a diet, just don't over done it.
